Training

Qualified and professional cleaning and hygiene is and remains a skill which requires specialist, trained staff. It is not simply an add-on to someone’s day job. If cleaning and hygiene is not carried out by professionally trained staff, it will potentially compromise the fight against, and the recovery from, Covid-19. We must all unreservedly accept that the myth that cleaning is an unskilled industry has been removed forever in the face of Covid-19?

The fact is that it remains a highly skilled requirement which has never been truly recognised. We are committed to the adoption and recognition of universal training and accreditation in cleaning and hygiene across the UK. Recognition that cleaning and hygiene is both critical and essential in restoring the confidence of the nation in returning to work and normality, thus aiding the UK economy to recover.

In an industry in which innovation, sustainability, science and employment skills are vast and vital all MINT staff are inducted and trained to the BICSs standard, the training is currently delivered by the employees line manager or the mobilisation team leader, employees can access the BICSs virtual training suite to complete COSHH training and hand hygiene courses; all employees are given opportunities to grow within the company, they have a clear development path with BICSs courses available to support their learning.

Knowledge is key to success and training is an investment in the future. We encounter new materials every day that require special cleaning solutions. Mint have partnered with Karcher, as a market leader in the world of cleaning they respond to challenges through constant development and innovative problem solving. They bring MINT up to date on the latest cleaning technology, including aspects relating to cost- effectiveness, efficiency and environmental protection. Experienced advisors develop cleaning solutions for specific target groups with cleaning operatives and are therefore able to provide MINT with expert advice. Theory and practice are taught in small training groups on site in a working environment, this means that each cleaning operative receives individual attention and specific questions are answered individually. All the cleaning operatives receive a certificate following successful completion of the training in the subject area covered.

signs of mental ill health, and encourage them to break down barriers, listen in a non- judgemental way, and signpost to support for recovery.
